Quick Bio...
I am an ecologist by training and by passion. I was born and raised in South Africa and live in California with my husband while working in and traveling to remote and wild locations. I earned a B.S. with honors in Biology from University of California at Santa Cruz (2001), and an M.S. in Ecology and Systematic Biology from the Romberg Tiburon Center for Environmental Studies and San Francisco State University (2005) and am preparing to start a PhD program in 2013.
Currently, I split my time and efforts between the launch of a new lion research and recovery effort in Gorongosa National Park, Mozambique; The Bay Area Puma Project & Felidae Conservation Fund; and The River Otter Ecology Project based in West Marin, California.
Favorite place on Earth to sleep: Fakarava [Havaiki-te-araro] in the Tuamotu, French Polynesia. Favorite place on Earth to lose sleep: Luangwa Valley, Zambia.
